::Adventure in Asbury::

This weekend was absolutely gorgeoussss, so the fab BF and I decided to go on a mini window shopping adventure in Asbury Park. They have a great downtown filled with art, vintage shops, and beautiful homes. It really is a thrill to venture to a city unfamiliar to you during a beautiful day.

We began by eating at this awesome tavern with great deviled eggs and typography throughout the bar. We walked around and found ourselves in a paranormal museum, rock and roll vintage shop, and me deciding I really want a beach cruiser! I am definitely going to venture to the unknown more often!

Some random shots of the day :)

Love the typography on this menu!

Awesome store filled with goodies and I love bookshelves {heart}

Some silliness I really need in my home one day :)

I LOVE, must-have, and NEED this in my life!

The idea of great lighting and Obama action figures makes me smile :D

The end to a perfect day: the perfect ice cream cone
(i look somewhat frightening in this picture ha!)

Ohhhh yessss and let's not forget about those gorgeous dollhouses I must live in one day!

They are absolutely beautiful!

Until my next adventure. . .

SPINNING

At the beginning of March I made a vow to live healthier and become more physically fit. So this week I decided to give spinning a whirl. It was amazing! I was so nervous and honestly did not know what to expect, but when the class started the instructor made everyone comfortable and played awesome music! It was really a great workout and I downed bottles of water like you wouldn't believe. The instructor was amazing and kept saying to "chase the beat of the music" as motivation, so that's what really kept me determined to pedal faster even though I felt like collapsing to the ground . I felt so good after and now I cannot wait for my next spinning class! :)

::Spring Challenge::

Spring is almost here!!! Woot Woot! (I'm dancing) Anywhoooo...Since Spring Cleaning is just around the corner I decided to challenge myself and change the entire theme and decor of my bedroom. I love this! My bedroom now is this Arabianish dark purple theme..but it's time for change. I don't know how exactly but I am going to somehow combine all of these rooms below into one (ha!) and create a masterpiece!
 I can't wait!!!

Romance with written words and tied bows

Paris, December 1795

I wake filled with thoughts of you. Your portrait and the intoxicating evening which we spent yesterday have left my senses in turmoil. Sweet, incomparable Josephine, what a strange effect you have on my heart! Are you angry? Do I see you looking sad? Are you worried?... My soul aches with sorrow, and there can be no rest for you lover; but is there still more in store for me when, yielding to the profound feelings which overwhelm me, I draw from your lips, from your heart a love which consumes me with fire? Ah! it was last night that I fully realized how false an image of you your portrait gives!

You are leaving at noon; I shall see you in three hours.

Until then, mio dolce amor, a thousand kisses; but give me none in return, for they set my blood on fire. -Napoleon Bonaparte

I truly do wish more people would write letters with postage for a little more romance in the world. Which is why I am going to start :)

step 1. buy some elegant stationary
step 2. write with love
step 3. mail to my amores
step 4. voila! more romance :)

::Blood Boil::

I recently read an article in the Conde Nast Portfolio about the progression of female leaders throughout history. In short, it explicates some reasoning why women's progression has stalled throughout the recent years. They calculated, "at this rate, it will take 73 years for women to achieve parity with men at the board level." My jaw dropped....literally. In my opinion, the world would be a better place if more women were leaders, and if we were just given the same level of opportunities as men, everyone would see this. Now, I am definitely not complaining because the progression women have made is amazing but I'm just saying us women have to get together and conquer the world!!! :) I was researching the fabulous Christine Lagarde and found some very interesting facts and tidbits of inspiration.

Christine Lagarde is the first woman to hold the top finance job EVER in any of the world's G8 countries. She was ranked 14th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes and ranked third in TIME magazine's Top 100 leaders and revolutionaries in 2009. She has received France's highest honor of decoration, the Legion d' Honneur and the Financial Times named Miss Lagarde as top finance minister of the year in 2009 as well.

Her tough love finance strategies has evolved France and she is predicted to rank even higher in 2010. "I feel accountable to the community of women," Lagarde says. "And I don't want to fail because of them." She tidied up France by cutting $15 billion in taxes, cut the riches tax down to 50%, gut the 35 hour workweek,eliminated 50,000 civil servants and told France "roll up your sleeves and get to work." She tightened bank regulations and eliminated excess in order for an increase in cash flows. Tim Geithner says:
In each encounter, her lightening quick-wit, genuine warmth and ability to bridge divides while remaining fiercely loyal to French interests have been a source of admiration. In capitals around the world, as governments collectively seek economic recovery, undoubtedly there is a shared appreciation that in Paris sits Chirstine Lagarde.

She remains admired by most, including me, and is solid proof women can achieve greatness in this crazy world

::Fabulous::

Anna Wintour by Alex Katz

The fabulous editor-in-chief of American VOGUE, Anna Wintour, sat for her first portrait ever last year for Mr. Katz.

He said "Painting Anna was like shooting a fish in a barrel. There was no way I could miss it."

The portrait will be shown at the National Portrait Gallery in London from May 15-September 21, 2010.

.I love it.
